Hunter McCain, MSW / ACSW
After earning my MSW from Flroida State University and gaining experience in an Intensive Outpatient community health program and a Psychiatrist Behavorial health In-patient unit, I was able to narrow my scope of practice to focusing on wanting to help patients who suffer from serious mental illnesses. My approach to therapy consists of utilizing dialectical behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to focus on a problem-solving solving patient-centered approach in which a trusting relationship is formed. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, and personality disorders. I believe having a partnership with psychiatry, psychotherapy, nutrition, and exercise is crucial to affectively helping patients overcome negative beliefs, learn to live with serious mental illnesses and achieve their goals.
