Oscar Morales, MD
After completing a research fellowship in brain stimulation at the NYSPI and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center’s Brain Stimulation Division in 2005, Dr. Morales founded and directed the Harvard McLean Hospital TMS Service in 2009. This was the first Harvard-affiliated unit dedicated to psychiatric clinical care and research for TMS and is now the largest psychiatric TMS Service within the Harvard Mass General Brigham System, treating 30–40 patients daily across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Morales served as McLean PI for clinical trials that led to FDA approvals for deep TMS in depression treatment and TMS for smoking cessation, and co-investigator in research on the safety and efficacy of deep TMS for PTSD. Additionally, he’s an expert member of the NNDC TMS Task Group, where they provide recommendations for clinical application of TMS treatment.
He served as a psychiatrist at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Department of Psychiatry Neuromodulation (TMS, ECT, and Second Opinion Clinic), and more recently a psychiatrist ECT and Plans to develop Neuromodulation at Bellevue Hospital
