“Hi, I’m John Esposito, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from the University of Scranton with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals and employee assistance programs, where I’ve supported clients from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, family conflict, substance use, HIV, paranoia, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, and relationship issues. In my practice, I take a warm, non-directive, strengths-based, person-centered approach, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing techniques. My goal is to help clients improve their quality of life by creating a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space where they can openly explore their challenges. I believe in each client’s capacity to make positive changes, and I’m here to support them in finding the strengths within themselves to do so. While I’m not at Amae, I enjoy listening to electronic dance music, attending concerts, playing video games, watching sports, and attending NY Yankees baseball games.”
