“Hi, I’m Mel Hodor, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who graduated from New York University. My passion has been working in justice reform settings, where I’ve focused on creating client-centered programs for Emerging Adult Courts and Mental Health Courts in New York City. I provide clinical assessments, counseling, and group facilitation for individuals facing serious mental health challenges. I’ve had the privilege of supervising social workers and interns, advocating for clients in legal settings, and working collaboratively to find solutions for people navigating various systems. My experience includes supporting individuals living with housing instability, criminal justice involvement, mental health and substance use challenges, as well as relational concerns. My areas of expertise include Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia & Schizoaffective Disorder, PTSD, Substance Use, and Personality Disorders. I take an individualized, strengths-based holistic approach to my work, creating a safe and supportive environment where each person feels empowered and confident in their own journey toward healing and growth. Our work may involve navigating obstacles, celebrating victories, and exploring the complexities of your experiences.Together, we will create a space where laughter, tears, and honest conversations are part of the process. You are the expert of your own life, and I would be honored to join you on this journey.”
