Hi, I’m Dr. Oscar Morales, a board-certified psychiatrist with a deep passion for neuromodulation and brain stimulation therapies. I earned my medical degree from San Carlos University Medical School in Guatemala and completed my psychiatry residency at Tufts University, followed by a research fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) at Columbia University. My expertise lies in brain stimulation treatments, including TMS, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), for conditions such as depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of pioneering advancements in neurotherapeutics. I founded and directed the TMS Service at Harvard McLean Hospital, leading one of the largest psychiatric TMS programs in the Harvard Mass General Brigham System. My research and clinical work have contributed to FDA approvals for deep TMS in depression and smoking cessation. I’ve also served as a psychiatrist at Sheppard Pratt Hospital and Bellevue Hospital, focusing on ECT and expanding neuromodulation services.
